Being a licensee in the Fine Timber Tasmania Chain of Custody system gives your customers a guarantee they are buying fine Tasmanian timber from a legal and sustainable source.

Tasmania's publicly owned forests, managed by Forestry Tasmania and some privately owned forests are certified to the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) AS4708, for environmental, social and economic sustainability, and are managed and harvested in accordance with State and Australian government environmental regulations.

Each link in the supply chain, from the forest to the retail market, is certified to the Chain of Custody system by an independent auditor.

Contemporary designed promotional and point of sale material is available for licensees.

Who should join the Chain of Custody system?

Any business that processes or sells Tasmanian fine timbers and/or products, and who wishes to demonstrate the environmental and social integrity of their products should join the Chain of Custody system.

Businesses may include sawmills, manufacturers of wooden furniture and other wooden products, designers/makers, musical instrument makers, retailers and gallery owners.
